Water Transfer Printing - Hydrographics

We are taking orders for water transfer printing, also known as Camo dipping, hydro graphics, aqua graphics, hydro imaging, hydro printing, just to name a few of the generic names. This method of printing is more durable then paint and decals. It is made to withstand long-term direct exposure to ultra-violet rays. We have the capability of covering your items in some of the most popular patterns like camouflage, wood grains, carbon fibers, and metals. The process involves dipping your part in your pattern of choice, applying a clear coat, then sand and buff to a show finish. Available patterns can be seen here. Some examples of what can be accomplished with this process are shown below:

Pricing is $0.75 per square inch of surface area.

Engine Turned Metal Sheets

We now have Pattern Polished Metal Sheets for automotive applications. The process of polishing known as Engine Turning, swirling or jewelling dates back into the 1800's. Engine Turning is a process of polishing stainless steel or other metal items with small overlapping swirls that form a moiré pattern. This jewelled pattern creates a dazzling finish that reflects light and makes the surface seem alive. Probably the most famous application of engine turning can be seen on the cowling of Lindbergh’s “Spirit of St. Louis”. Please visit our online store for patterns, sizes and prices.

Woodgraining
We offer quality woodgraining services for your restoration project using the latest Grain It Technologies methods. This means that your part will be wood grained as it was at the factory, using wood graining plates and roller applicators (not hand painted). We use nothing but the best products from the substrate on up to the base and clear coat.

What Is Woodgraining?
Woodgraining is a faux finishing technique. A way to make something that is not wood look like wood. Our system is a old system used by many manufacturers from the 1920s until the mid 1950s. With this system you can woodgrain just about anything you can paint. In addition to dashes and garnish moldings, one can make a steel security door have the warm look of mahogany. Make a computer case look like cherry wood to match your cherry desk and office furniture.

The following process is applied to all parts that are to be woodgrained:

  • Media-blast part to bare metal.
  • Apply a zinc-rich powder coat primer - the powder adheres to all areas of the part even where paint guns can't reach.
  • Bake parts to cure powder coating.
  • Sand parts to preparefor base coat application.
  • Apply the base coat in the appropriate color for your vehicle - we have a database of correct colors for all vehicles.
  • Apply correct woodgrain for your vehicle per original factory specifications - we have a database for that as well.
  • Apply a high-gloss clear coat by Azko-Nobel
  • Wet sand clear coat.
  • Buff to a high, show-finish gloss using a 3-stage compound system.

Some samples are shown below.
